Send a post message to one group or many!
Before you can send a message, make sure you have set up a group to send your message to!!
1. Open the DigitalDeets Platform and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on the Create button.
2. Choose the group you want to send the post to. You can choose to message one group or multiple groups. Pick a title for the post under post title; the post title is the push notification that parents will see in the mobile app, so make it exciting and something parents will want to open. Finally, write the message you want sent out under the content title. You can use the tools that are provided at the top of the content box to help you change font sizes, color, add links to website, etc. It is a full text editor.
3. After writing your post you have the choice to add an image or an attachment. Please remember that any attachment that you add will not be translated. Translation only happens for the message written in the text box.
4. After you are satisfied with your post, you then have the option to choose if the post will be private or public. The post will automatically default to private. This means that the post will only be seen by your school's community members. If you choose public than your post will be seen on the public School Deets' feed. This feed will be on the School Deets' website and outside users will have the option to sign up to see specific school's posts.
5. Push the Send button and your message will be sent out in private mode to just your community. If you chose public than you will see a pop up that allows you to choose where to share your post. As of now you will be able to share this post to Facebook or Twitter. This only will work if you have already established a Facebook and/or Twitter account.
6. You may choose to save your draft for later. Push the Save Draft bottom and it will save your post until you come back to it.
7. You are also able to schedule a message to be sent out for a later date. Once you pick a day and time, hit Schedule.
** Another option for your post is to send for human translation if your school has a process in place to handle this type of translation.
As a Reminder: Spanish speaking teachers can type directly into the platform in Spanish. The technology will recognize you are doing this and will display your Spanish text directly to parents without running it through translation.
